Anthropic banned me for trying to use Claude Max on pi

· 1 min read

Today I got banned by Anthropic.

I was trying to use my Claude Max subscription on pi. Sorry :(

I felt so sad.

I wanted was to use pi with Opus 4.6. Yes, I could use the API instead, but I can’t afford the cost for the amount of use I make.

Why didn’t I just use Claude Code? It probably would have worked well. In fact, it probably would have worked better than pi, because I would not have spent countless hours customizing every minimal aspect of my setup.

But then, would it be worth it?

I am a computer scientist. I use and craft software that lives in the soul of the computer. I am in this for the craft. I love the journey: building, designing, learning, and interacting with machines. And now I can talk to it and IT TALKS BACK. That still feels like a dream.

Unfortunately I don’t want to work with closed source software.

I customize my software.

My software is my craft.

My software is my life.
